PM4SECR LLC is a company that offers two distinct services. The first is to a seminar for 4 CPE Hours called “ Project Management for SEC Reporting Professionals” and the second is to provide review services for draft 10-Ks and 10-Qs.

Project Management for
SEC Reporting Professionals Course

Purpose

The general concept of this course is to teach project management skills to SEC Reporting Professionals (“SRPs”) so they can be better able to lead and manage the comprehensive 10-K and/or 10-Q preparation process.

Proposed Audience

The proposed audience are

  • Novice SEC Reporting Professionals 
  • Experienced SEC Reporting Professionals who are interested in learning about new perspectives that could lead to improvement
  • Accountants that desire to become SEC Reporting Professionals in the future and need additional knowledge to become qualified
  • Controllers who have SEC Reporting Professionals reporting to them that want to garner information in order to help their subordinate(s); and/or
  • Accounting professionals that want CPE

Course Overview

There are 26 chapters broken down into four major categories which are:

  1. providing awareness of many critical success factors for SEC Reporting Professionals that are obscure
  2. identifying the various sub-processes that have to be effectively managed that feed the main process of drafting 10-Ks and 10-Qs
  3. providing ideas and resources for enhancing skills in many areas; and 
  4. suggesting techniques for continuous improvement. That said, this course enables students to integrate all of the abovementioned categories and effectively apply these in the SEC Reporting process

Learning Objectives

The learning objectives come from the 26 chapter topics below. With so many topical categories being discussed, students are very likely to come away with important take-aways that can be incorporated into their SEC Reporting processes.

This course has been approved to award 4 hours of CPE in all 50 states. In Texas, CPE is awarded under Texas Sponsor ID # 009883 and in the other 49 states, the CPE is governed by NASBA National Registry of CPE Sponsors, under sponsor ID # 111896.

Qualified Instructor

Joseph Rotman

Joseph D. Rotman has a B.S. in Accounting from George Mason University 1989, and MBA from the University of Tampa 1999. He is a licensed CPA in Texas. He is an Accounting professional with over 20 years of accounting experience in industry.

When Mr. Rotman started out in SEC Reporting, he had excellent GAAP and SEC knowledge but struggled because he was unaware of much of the content in this course. However, after Mr. Rotman developed a documented system incorporating a project management approach to SEC Reporting and enhanced certain skills, his performance significantly improved. From conversing with peers and from his own experiences, Mr. Rotman believes that this course can benefit many SEC Reporting Professionals as well as many other Accounting Professionals.
